We are mourning the loss of our beloved dog Tinker this week. She was a part of our lives for over 15 years. With a big personality, strong willed, and independent, she leaves a big empty space in our hearts. Our pets waggle their way into our hearts and become family members intimate with our daily routines. The each have a sense of self, unique, just as individual as people. They delight in our joys and comfort us when we are sad.
This small tribute to her can never equal the joy that she brought to our life.
Rest in peace Tinker , December 25th, 2000 – August 1st, 2015
aka; Tinker (not bell), The wonder dog (as in “we wonder what breed she is?), The terrierist (saving us from many cats, squirrels and chipmunks… and the occasional bear.), Lamb of Dog ( for how she looked when wet)
Tinker’s special talent was that she would sing along with music, especially flamenco and with accordion accompaniment. Here are some videos of her performing: Tinker Sing Along, Tinker Sings
Tinker will be missed..I loved that little dog for her spunk and attitude and her sweet face. Your painting is a beautiful reminder of the mark she has left with you and Nancy. Sending you both big hugs..
Thank you Cindy, I forgot to mention her spunk 🙂
Nancy +Roger, I am so sad to learn that Tinker is no longer a living, beathing presence in your household. All those Christmas cards starring Tinker were a testimony to her central participation in your family. This is a big load. I am holding you both as you grieve her passing. Love to you both,. Ellen

Thanks Ellen, Your Mom spent so much time with Tinker in Worship and committee Meetings that she called her the “Quaker dog”. She did ask us to bring her to say farewell when she was preparing to pass. Sweet memories…
Roger, I send you and Nancy my heart-felt sympathy on your loss of Tinker, such a special member of your family. This is a lovely tribute to Tinker who had a great and happy life with you both. How many people can say their dog did sing-alongs with them? Thank you for sharing Tinker’s singing with us…I love seeing and hearing her… Love, Ginger PS I’ve always loved that painting of her with Nancy.
Thanks Ginger, We figure that she traveled over 100,000 miles with us, even to see you in Miami 🙂
Was so sorry to hear about tinker – holding you all in the light.
Thanks Kyle, that hike we did the last time you visited to the top of Crane Mountain was her last long walk. Many miles together, usually three times a day 🙂
Roger and Nancy, I am sooo sorry to hear about Tinker. I certainly can empathize as both Emma and Gracie died in this past year. Please know we’ll be thinking of you and Tinker’s lamb of dog toy, which always brings a smile to my face.
Thanks Laura, Condolences to you as well, I hope that J and M are taking it well.
Roger and Nancy – So sorry to hear of Tinker’s passing. She was a special girl. We are wishing her “Happy Trails!” in her new spirit home. Hugs and kisses to you both.
Thanks Dale and welcome to “this speaks my mind” 😉
