​I call this spot in the road “windy corner”. Because of the topography it always seems to be blowing here causing the trees to sway and the leaves drop. This is one of a series of en plein air paintings of  autumn color that I painted that year. I exclusively used a knife to apply the paint and mixed many colors right on the canvas. This gives the surface a bold texture and shimmering freshness.
