Marcel Proust wrote these words about the act of writing. That he was introspective is an understatement, and yet he, like most humans, longed to make contact with his audience. Not face to face however. Like many artists, he prefered to have contact through his work.
I am sympathetic with him on this point. Is an effort for me to get out and promote my work face to face. For this reason his statement rings true to me. I much prefer the act of creating, and communicating, in solitude.
This is where the act of writing This Speaks My Mind has been an eye-opening experience for me over the past year. It has given me the opportunity to share my thoughts on a range of subjects in a forum that to me, feels like an intimate conversation. I am comfortable with intimate conversation.
I think it is this feeling of intimacy with readers that attract many people to blog in the first place. It is not something that I considered when I started this project in conjunction with my web-sight RVJart.com. This has been a pleasant surprise.
And so we begin year two together, dear reader. I hope that you stay with me in this fruitful miracle and as always, share your thoughts…
