Semper Fi

This Memorial Day I am remembering my Father, Richard Anthony Jasaitis, who recently died.

My Father had a bumper sticker on his car, it read Semper Fi.

Semper Fi is the informal motto of the US Marine Corps. My Father was a Marine during WWII. He served in the south Pacific in the Marine Air Corps. He was very proud of his service to his country.

Semper Fi is short for Semper Fidelis. This is Latin for Always Faithful.

My Father was a good man, an honest man, he never cheated anyone (except for playing Scrabble, then you had to watch him). He was always faithful to his country and his family.

We will not forget him. As his children, we carry his DNA. He is literally part of us, within us. We will be faithful to his memory.

Semper Fidelis

Wonderful tribute to your father, Roger. I’m happy to learn more about him and what a full and productive life he had. Ginger
