This en plein air, petite canvas is of the frozen West River in late winter at mid-day. The opening at the rivers bend exposed the water moving beneath the ice and snow. The colors of this painting seem very water color-ish, but this is textured oil paint applied with a palette knife and scraped and prodded into a sparkling winter’s day.
